Let’s break down some important flaws in the usual methods of exercise and provide some solutions.

First, I have to answer the question of why people train. The main reason is to account for the fact that we evolved as hunter gatherers but no longer live that way. We don’t move as much as we used to and we don’t move in the ways we used to. This has led us to become stiff, weak, and sore.

Solution: Exercise.

The problem with traditional exercise is that most of it is based on the sport of bodybuilding or powerlifting, neither of which consider the internal structures of the human body.

Problem: Training solely with predetermined, repetitive, patterned, exercises.

By performing the same motions over and over, the body accommodates to make those movements more efficient. This happens to the detriment of your joints. Your joints will begin to lose range of motion, limiting access to trainable tissue. Eventually, this will result in plateau and/or injury when the limited tissue you have been training reaches its limit to adapt.

Solution: The number one priority when training must be to improve and maintain articular workspace. By taking care of your joints before everything else you build a resilient body capable of thriving for years to come. You stave off accommodation and maximize access to trainable tissue, thus maximizing movement freedom. By training more tissue, you have more potential for adaptations to be made. You will move better, hurt less, and will eliminate stiffness.

Problem: Only focusing on the superficial muscle tissue that you can see.

99% of modern training is working your biceps or your glutes or your pecs, etc. By only focusing on the surface level muscle you ignore the deeper, more important internal structures of the body. The joints as mentioned above, but also the rotational tissues outside the joints (and linear tissue for the spine), connective tissue, and other non superficial muscles. Standard training also does not consider whether certain muscles are predominantly slow or fast twitch. This leads to a dysfunctional body prone to injury.

Solution: Train the body from the inside out. Joints are priority #1, then rotational tissues (or linear for spine), connective tissue is specifically trained to ensure it can handle the forces produced by muscle tissue/and or required by sport. All ecologies are brought up together, minimizing risk of injury and maximizing movement freedom.

Problem: Conflating being exhausted at the end of a workout as a sign the workout was effective.

People think moving lots and getting their heart rate elevated is the goal but we need to ask more questions to be more effective. What is the desired adaptation that you are after? How is that acquired? What intensity is required? What duration of training stimulus is required?

Solution: Educate yourself with how to train. A personal trainer who has 10+ years of experience, has sought further education, and has trained dozens of other people can transfer their knowledge to you in the span of a few months. You can avoid all the mistakes that the majority of others make. You will progress faster, you will avoid injuries, and save yourself tons of time figuring out what works.
